Can’t really be bothered today to blog! shattered from a “shit loada tiles shift” at Homebase. Humpin the American dream…….. Jst lookin at the transfering of energy from person to person & the possitive and negative effects we impose on other people in our day. just looking at the domino effect of events that can happen as a result of one minor set up to your day.ei. traffic jam, missing a bus. to a simpler more personal level. etc . At this current moment I am lookin at how an song heard at the start of your day sticks with you the rest of the day.I plan on compiling a list of the most catchy/annoying songsto see what happens to the people i encounter in my day when i keep singing the same song over and over again. Any song suggestions are welcome. G.x

The Artwork i have chosen to transcribe: as written in my statement of intent:
Fischli & Weiss – “The Way Things Go”- sculpture/ video
Inside a warehouse, a precarious 70-100 feet long structure has been constructed using various items. Part schoolboy physics, part spectacular marvel, when this is set in motion, a chain reaction ensues. Fire, water, law of gravity as well as chemistry determine the life-cycle of objects – of things. It brings about a story concerning cause and effect, mechanism and art, improbability and precision.
The camera itself, fascinated, observes an event ‘taking its course’ and documents a half-hour process with (practically) no edits.
Peter Fischli and David Weiss have been collaborating since 1979 on a body of work that celebrates—with great humor and intelligence—the sheer banality of everyday existence.
My fascination is that this video is concerned with the problem of guilt and innocence. An object must be blamed for not proceeding further, and also for proceeding further than expected. It also relates to theory that every positive reaction has a positive reaction and every negative has a negative reaction. Much like the pebble in water effect where one action causes a continuous reaction, where the positive/negative energy is never lost but simply transferred to another element/object/entity.
This piece (and their work in a whole) seems to satirize the seriousness of high art: Fischli/Weiss’s delight in the ordinary. Their conceptually driven practice, undermine conventional distinctions between ‘high’ and ‘low art’. I am also fascinated due to my interest in video as an Art form and Documentation/‘Art process’ as concluded artwork is a recurring element of my work recently.
My aims for this project, is to investigate further the transferring of energy and chain reaction idea, though I wish to look at it on a more personified personal level, how energy is transferred as a person or as part of what is done as daily routine, and its cause and effect,
I intend to use a variety of media and methods in my experiments and investigation. I expect documentation to be an important part of this process, perhaps through video or other multi media methods to possible create a studio installation. I wish to involve elements of participation, whether documented in final piece or as an interactive installation of which the viewer can become part of.
